The diode used in this module was carefully extracted from a 22x DVD Burner, press-fitted into an Aixiz laser housing, and soldered to a pair of black/white rainbow wire.

This module can be used for many applications, including: laser light shows, laser photography, special effects, engraving/melting plastics, and more!

While these modules can be safely run at anywhere between 250-350mw (thermal output power) in constant wave (CW) mode / 500+mw pulsed, it's not uncommon to see them operating at over 400mw CW with proper TEC cooling.

Q:	how much extra for you to install this diode into a flashlight housing and ready to be used once received "except Batteries" would also like this beam effective at around 5 feet or so.	Oct-15-08
A:	For details on burning laser pointers that utilize these modules, please check out our site, nitroxlasers . com, for details. As for range, this will vary by the type of batteries used, object that you're trying to burn, and various other factors.
Q:	hi , how far away can this devive burn something? And would It be painful if the laser came in contact with skin etc?	Oct-15-08
A:	If properly focused and powered, this device is technically capable of popping balloons and burning object from several feet away. The maximum burning distance will vary with each individual setup and I can't really give you any specifics because there are so many ways to configure these modules. As far as the dangers of this device, it is possible, that if precisely focused on one's skin for an extended period of time (>2secs), a minor burn could occur. Although this is extremely unlikely, please make sure to always use these devices with the utmost care for your safety, and that of others within close proximity of the device.

A:	You can connect this module directly to a regulated 2.85v 400ma power supply (such as a bench supply), or, for $14.99 extra, we will solder a constant current driver into the module (within its housing) for use with unregulated DC power (i.e. a 3x AA battery pack)

A:	To achieve approximately 350mw output power, you should run the module at 2.85v, 400ma or so. This module does not come standard with a driver, but I can include one pre-soldered in the Aixiz housing, so that you can connect it directly to a 3x AA battery pack.
